Pedals, Pipes and Pizza

Who is Eligible? Piano students, ages 11 - 16. Be sure to bring some familiar piano pieces to play!
No admission fee for participants. Parents encouraged to attend too!

Celebrate the last day of winter!
Young pianist ages 11 - 16 will have an opportunity to meet the King of Instruments
on Saturday, March 20, one day before the 325th birthday of J.S. Bach, one of the greatest
composers for organ who ever lived. Sponsored by ACM, which includes the
Madison Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, the event will start at Lutheran Church of the Living Christ (pictured at right) in Madison where participants will view an introductory video
titled Pulling Out All the Stops.
Following the video, students will be able to see, hear, and play the 23-rank Steiner pipe organ.
After a pizza lunch, students will travel to Resurrection Chapel(pictured at left)
at Oakwood Village West,
6201 Mineral Point Road, to see, hear, and play the pipe organ built by Stoughton
resident, Bruce Case.
Covenant Presbyterian Church, 326 North Segoe Road,
will be the final stop on the tour. At Covenant students will have the opportunity
to see, hear, and play the 36-rank 3-manual Schoenstein pipe organ.
Following the showing of the video Close Encounters, the hands-on event will conclude by 3:30 p.m.
