Follow-up Report

Over 75 ACM members, clergy and guests turned out for this popular annual event which featured Dr. Marva Dawn, a nationally-known theologian, author, lecturer and educator, as its speaker. Her topic for the evening was Finding Common Ground: Tensions and Interpretations of Worship Styles. Dr. Dawn received her Ph.D. in Christian Ethics and the Scriptures from the University of Notre Dame and is an adjunct professor of spiritual theology at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia. She is also an educator with Christians Equipped for Ministry in Vancouver, Washington.

Her numerous books and devotionals include Reaching Out Without Dumbing Down; The Unnecessary Pastor: Rediscovering the Call; Powers, Weakness, and the Tabernacling of God; A Royal "Waste" of Time: The Splendor of Worshiping God and Being Church for the World; Morning by Morning: Daily Meditations from the Writings of Marva Dawn; Joy in Our Weakness: A Gift of Hope from the Book of Revelations, and many others.

The dinner's main entree was a chicken or vegetarian stir-fry, catered by Crandall's. Madison Church Supply also had an exhibit with books by Dr. Dawn for sale.
